The Founder

EDDIE L. CASTILLO is a holder of Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management. He is the Founder, President/Executive Director of SEAGULLS FLIGHT FOUNDATION, INC., a treatment and rehabilitation center for chemical substance dependents which he founded last May 1998. He has had extensive training and experience in dealing with the problem of substance abuse. For more than 30 years now, he has unselfishly committed his time and effort in pursuing his life saving mission of reaching out to help save the lives of those enslaved by the drug problem and to restore the families likewise broken and shattered by this problem.

He further expanded his working knowledge in the therapeutic community program by attending a formal training in DAYTOP VILLAGE in New York City. His work not only focuses on the substance dependents alone but likewise on the families. Since the whole treatment program includes the family and their “significant others“, the whole program has been labeled as “a family repair station“. He also successfully installed and supervised a Drug – Free Work Place Program at Manila Electric Company (MERALCO) at its offices in Ortigas years ago.

He is currently the Founding President & Chair of the Philippine Federation of Therapeutic Communities (PFTC), the incumbent President of the Asian Federation of Therapeutic Communities (AFTC) and a member the World Federation of Therapeutic Communities (WFTC) in New York. He was also the former Chair of the Inter-Agency Committee under the Dangerous Drugs Board. He was also appointed by the Hon. Mayor of Tagaytay, Abraham ‘Bambol’ Tolentino as the Chair of the Ospital ng Tagaytay for five consecutive years now.

“ Kuya Ed “ as he is fondly called, has also been a regular resource speaker for several fora both for local and international speaking engagements particularly for Colombo Plan Drug Advisory Programme. He used to have a regular column in a local newspaper and was also into radio broadcasting, spreading information on drug abuse and prevention. Kuya Ed was also a recipient of the Infinity Humanity Award “ on Corporate Social Responsibility given by Smart Infinity with no less than the former Prime Minister of Great Britain & Northern Ireland who presented the award along with PLDT Chair Manny Pangilinan and other Smart Infinity Executives.
